I just got out of the Army, where I was in peak physical condition...four years ago. Long-term, I want to get back down to 170 pounds, which was my weight when I left basic training. If I can get there, I'll be happy. I'm a member at the local Lifetime Fitness, and it's great. Being a member there actually makes me want to go to the gym every day...

I've been utilizing the rock climbing gym a lot, so to me that alone is worth the $70 a month that I pay for my membership. I'd much rather have the gym membership than cable television. :-)

I did squats yesterday and now I hate my life. I think there's a correlation there.

I know that setting goals isn't enough -- you have to write them down and make them visible, and then you have re-read those goals all the time. It helps you stick to them and helps you remember what you're aiming for.

With that being the case, these are my goals for the next three months. I'm doing three-month intervals because I will be doing my FitTest and BodyAge testing at Lifetime Fitness every three months, and also because three months seems like a good span of time to go by.

1. By May 22, 2007, I will lose 25 pounds.
2. By May 22, 2007, my body fat % will go from 27% to 18%
3. By May 22, 2007, my Body Mass Index will go from 30.1 to 20
4. By May 22, 2007, my Body Age will go from 34 to 28.
5. By May 22, 2007, I will gain 15 pounds of lean muscle.
